Film/Documentary about the protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline (#NoDAPL).
22. Oktober 2019 @ 18:00 – 20:00
In 2016, an oil pipeline was approved that transports fracked oil from North Dakota’s Bakken oil fields directly underneath the Missouri River as well as under a part of Lake Oahe on sovereign Lakota land, to southern Illinois. The film tells the story of the native-led protest at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. The pipeline threatens the only water source for the Standing Rock reservation and the drinking water source for 17 million Americans downstream. Tens of thousands of activists travelled to North Dakota from all over the world to take a stand alongside the „water protectors“. The violence against the protestors gained international attention.
